Job Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day scheduled and unscheduled maintenance within the Antrim production facility, to include factory buildings, machine maintenance including mechanical & electrical repair work to keep the production facility running effectively and efficiently.

 

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver continuous improvement in processes and machines and configure manufacturing systems to reduce costs, improve availability and deliver business excellence measures within the production processes. 
  • Carry out mechanical-electrical-pneumatic-hydraulic repairs to plant & machinery.
  • Carry out fault finding & trouble shooting on plant & machinery, mechanical & electrical.
  • Maintain machinery in good working order as per maintenance schedule.
  • Keep production facility running effectively and efficiently through continual improvements.
  • Ensure plant & machinery are available for maximum productivity.
  • Maintain a safe, neat & tidy work area by following safety & housekeeping procedures.
  • Ensure daily operation of CHP & dust extraction plant are run efficiently.
  • Complete maintenance documentation accurately, neatly and efficiently. 
  • Co-operate with fellow workers and management. 
  • Carry out any other duties as required.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a fast paced, high-volume environment working with electrical & mechanical machinery to include fault finding and repairs. 
  • Working knowledge of managing maintenance workloads and working to strict deadlines.
  • ONC / OND Mechanical / Electrical Engineering OR equivalent OR time served mechanical/electrical apprentice.
  • Be mechanically minded and have the ability to use a variety of hand tools.
  • Capable of MIG/Arc/TIG Welding.
  • Computer literate: Word, Excel.
  • Have a high degree of initiative and safety awareness.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads, respond quickly to emergencies and creative problem solving skills.
  • You need to demonstrate and lead by the company values.
  • You must be flexible with regards your working hours for opposing shifts holiday cover or planned maintenance.

 

Desirable Criteria 

  • Green belt in six sigma methodologies/Lean manufacturing.
  • Experience of lean production systems and continuous improvement processes.
  • Knowledge of steam boiler plant.
  • Have a mechanical background with electrical skills.

 

Contract: Permanent Contract (hourly paid) 

 

Shifts available:    

Day Shift x 1: Mon – Thurs 7am – 18:30pm (42 hours per week exclusive of break times)

Weekend Shift x 1: Fri & Sat 7am – 18:30pm, Sun 7am – 16:00pm 

*Flexibility required for holiday cover or scheduled maintenance on other shift patterns.

 

Rate of pay (paid weekly via BACS):

Day Shift: £10.62p/h - £13.77p/h

Weekend Shift (Hours worked Fri - Sun - Inclusive of 33% shift allowance): £14.13p/h - £18.31p/h
